Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday hosted US Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney in his chambers.

Meanwhile, one of Romney's senior aides said that he would back Israel if it were to decide it had to use military force to stop Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.

"If Israel has to take action on its own, in order to stop Iran from developing that capability, the governor would respect that decision," Romney's senior national security aide Dan Senor told reporters traveling with the candidate.

The Prime Minister’s Office on Sunday denied a report that a senior US official recently showed Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu the Obama administration’s plans for a possible strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

“Nothing in the article is correct,” a senior PMO official told The Times of Israel on Sunday, moments after Netanyahu met with Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney in Jerusalem.

Haaretz reporter Barak Ravid on Sunday quoted a “senior American official” saying that Netanyahu hosted US National Security Adviser Tom Donilon for a “a three-hour dinner” during which Donilon shared Washington’s contingency plans for a potential strike on Iran. Ravid wrote that Donilon’s visit in Jerusalem two weeks ago was “the most significant so far between American and Israeli officials here in recent weeks.”

US fears major Iranian threat in Persian Gulf

Christian News

Experts estimate that Iran is bolstering its retaliation capabilities against US naval ships in the Persian Gulf – among other things Tehran is amassing an arsenal of advanced anti-ship missiles and expanding its fast attack boat fleet, the Washington Post reported on Friday.

According to the Post, officials claimed that the new systems, many of which were developed with foreign assistance, are giving Iran’s commanders new confidence that they could quickly damage or destroy US ships if hostilities erupt.

Fresh attacks pummel Aleppo as Syrian opposition calls for arming rebels

With relentless attacks rocking Syria's largest city, the head of a prominent Syrian opposition group is pleading for world allies to help arm rebels.

"Our friends and allies will bear responsibility for the terrifying massacres that will happen in Aleppo if they don't move soon. This regime is planning for a big massacre in Aleppo," Abdulbaset Sieda, head of the Syrian National Council, told reporters in Abu Dhabi.

He urged allies to act outside of the U.N. Security Council, as resolutions there can be vetoed.

"The rebels now are fighting with primitive types of weapons against the killing machine. We need weapons that will allow us to stop tanks and planes. This is what we need," Sieda said.

"The men who have done the most for God in this world have been early on their knees. He who fritters away the early morning, its opportunity and freshness, in other pursuits than seeking God will make poor headway seeking Him the rest of the day. If God is not first in our thoughts and efforts in the morning, He will be in the last place the remainder of the day." - E. M. Bounds
